Butcher Raised Beef

Welcome to The Rail Butchery
We are a provincially inspected Abattoir offering custom cutting and farm raised beef sales from our farm nestled in Yellowhead County, Alberta.
Our animals are not a commodity, they are our pets and are cared for and given the best we can give them every day. Our commitment to animal welfare ensures our cattle enjoy ample space, low stress handling and high quality nutrition.
Our ranching practices result in a quality product with optimal composition, without the use of hormones, overfeeding or sub-therapeutic antibiotics. Because we are the farmer and the butcher you can purchase high-quality beef from our farm at a better cost and quantity than what is typically available in a grocery store.

Beef Selection
Our herd mainly consists of Hereford x Angus. We like the Hereford for their amazing temperament, maternal instincts and ability to gain on grass. The Angus bring great beef quality and calving ease.
There are many options for the consumer so above all else we want to help select the animal and cuts that will work best for your needs. Beef is very expensive and we understand the investment you are making. We want to ensure the beef selected for you is finished in a manner that best fits your tastes as well as the cuts that are most conducive to your cooking style.
We offer beef in three styles of finish: 100% Grass, Moderate Grain and Heavy Grain. Please give us a call and together we can determine which finishing style is the best fit for you and your family.
